Mary of Nazareth, who is she really? A few thoughts, part 1

Mary would be both heart-broken and angry that any should call her the Queen of Heaven knowing who that title truly belongs to and the evil one behind it.

Pilgrim’s Progress revisited - Christiana on the narrow way

1 Thessalonians 5

22 Abstain from every form of evil.

Mary, Jesus’ Mother, isn’t the Queen of Heaven. Please stop inventing titles and honors for her who truly was so highly favored without any help from us. Mary was a Jewish woman, and it’s difficult to see how she would ever celebrate being called ‘The Queen of Heaven.’ She was brought up and instructed in the faith of Israel and knew that her nation had been severely chastened for idolatry, and would have been able to identify this entity, though not taking its name upon her lips. She would have known and eagerly awaited the fulfillment of the wonderful prophecy given in exile to Daniel, that Messiah the Prince was soon to appear and do away with sin forever. Yes, she was highly favored indeed and it will be a joy to fellowship with her in the Lord’s Presence someday.

Daniel 9:24
